Two biological sciences students are the toast of the science community after being nominated for the Science Engineering & Technology ‘student of the year’ awards.

Both Charlotte Cooper (BSc Medical Sciences (Industrial), supervisor Matt Dutschmann) and Ben Durham (BSc Medical Sciences, supervisor Ian Wood) have been recognised for their final year undergraduate projects.

The awards are considered to be the most important awards in Europe for Science, Engineering and Technology students.

Professor Mike McPherson, Pro-Dean for Student Education, said: “Congratulations to the students and their supervisors. For two nominees to be recognised from the Faculty of Biological Sciences is an outstanding achievement. We wish them well for the final round of interviews with the judges.”

This prestigious event will have representatives from academia, government and industry in attendance.
