Leeds graduate takes European gold
Alastair Brownlee wins at the ATU European Senior Championship event in Athlone, Ireland.
The World Champion sat comfortably in the lead pack throughout the race. The final run saw Brownlee go head to head with Javier Gomez. Brownlee out ran Gomez to take the victory with a time of 1:44:24, proving that he has returned to sport after injury in fighting fit form.
