About Biolog-e

Undergraduate Research Journals are a new medium through which to reach students and motivate them to learn. Good UK undergraduate research ability warrants recognition and prompt publication offers many benefits:

  • For the student and the University in terms of acknowledging the work done.
  • For future employers in terms of appreciating the student’s knowledge and skills.
  • For future students in terms of appreciating the standards to aim for

Biolog-e was the first undergraduate e-journal to be established at the University of Leeds. The journal publishes representative examples of first class undergraduate bioscience research projects and student articles.

Get involved

Biolog-e is your journal, and open to all undergraduates in the Faculty of Biological Sciences.

Some of you may be embarking on an exciting venture over the vacation e.g. a summer job or travel relevant to your studies, or you may simply find the time to read or research something of interest to you and related to your subject. One way to build on this is to write a short article and submit it for publication in next year's issue; other students may be interested to read it and you would have something to add to your CV and show your family and friends. We are also interested in hearing from students who would like to get involved in the editorial side of Biolog-e - it's your journal so let us know how you'd like it to look.

If you would like to write an article for Biolog-e or get involved in the editorial side of Biolog-e please contact Aurora Levesley (a.levesley@leeds.ac.uk)
