Undergraduate project opportunities

If you are an undergraduate student whether at Leeds or another University and wish to gain experience in biomedical science both in terms of bench work and theory then please contact Julian.  These short research projects can provide ideal opportunities to discover if you want to do post-graduate studies by research (e.g. PhD).

Several projects related to our primary research goals can be made available and you will be supervised by Julian and an experienced post-doctoral or post-graduate scientist. These projects are out of term and run over the summer vacation and are funded from a variety of sources.  Unpaid work is also available.  Ideally these projects are best suited to students about to move into their final year of study.  For Leeds students research projects are also available as part of your third year. Preference is given to those students who are predicted a 2.1 or 1st class honours degree.  So far all of the research project students have obtained a 2.1 or first in their projects, and many have made substantial contributions to publications.  Examples (in bold face) include:
