Hiscox Lab
What we do:
The Hiscox Lab is a research group at the University of Leeds which uses structural, molecular and cell biological approaches to study human and animal disease. The three major focuses being on:
Focus 1: Respiratory virus pathogens. Principally we study infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV), human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV) (with John Barr), and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV).
Focus 2: The nucleolus. This is a dynamic sub-nuclear structure which is the target for many viral infections and cellular diseases particularly cancer and auto-immune disease.
Focus 3: Using high throughput quantitative proteomics and interactome mapping to study virus interactions with the host cell.
