Jobs & Contacts
The Unit is always interested in applications from potential PhD students, research assistants and postdocs from the UK and abroad. We have recently filled a number of postdoc vacancies and have no immediate positions available. However, we can still support named applications for internal and external grant support for PhD studentships and postdoc fellowships from Leeds University, various government, charitable and industrial sources.

Undergraduate Summer or Vacation Studentships, Laboratory Training & Experience
Undergraduate students from UK and abroad are advised to contact each investigator to discuss training opportunities. The Unit is usually pretty full but we may have space for 1-2 undergraduate and MSc students to train in the lab over the spring and summer period each year, when the teaching commitments are less intense. There are summer/vacation scholarships available to UK second and third year undergraduates undertaking a biological sciences degree anywhere in the UK. These awards are based on a good CV and academic excellence. The summer scholarship schemes available include those from the Faculty of Biological Sciences, The Wellcome Trust, The Nuffield Foundation and The Biochemical Society. Overseas applicants are usually required to secure their own funding and scholarships for such training purposes.
