The Faculty of Biological Sciences currently provides the following general space for comfort breaks for staff and post graduate students. The rooms have kitchen facilities including fridges and microwaves and a boiler for hot water.

All these areas are self-service and staff and students are expected to keep all of the facilities in a clean and tidy condition ensuring that their unused food and drink is removed on a regular basis.

The Faculty is currently investing in a large centralised social space area in LC Miall level 7, which is due for completion in January 2014. This will provide dedicated space for staff and post graduate students only, and will be a mixture of café style seating and tables and softer lounge style seating.
