Weanling pig feed

Weanling pig feed
Professor Miller has demonstrated a weanling pig feed formulation which avoids the use of antibiotics.

Research into pig dietary needs has enabled Prof Miller’s group to undertake an ongoing programme of research for a pig feed company to develop new pig feeds giving high performance of weanling pigs without the use of (now banned) antibiotics. Professor Miller’s research has demonstrated a weanling pig feed formulation which avoids the use of antibiotics but which enables weanling pigs to out-perform pigs fed on the antibiotic-containing diets. The re-formulation of the feed has enabled the company to gain a significant share of the weanling pig feed market in the UK, and also a significant proportion of the market in the Netherlands.

Professor Miller has provided consultancy to private companies and pig producer organisations, on a range of aspects of pig health and nutrition.
