All students are expected to attain a minimum of 30 points worth of training before submitting their thesis.

Year 0: Students in the first year of a 4-year PhD

Year 2: Students in the third year of a 4-year PhD, or Students in the second year of a 3-year PhD
Year 3: Students in the final year of a 4-year PhD, or Students in the third year of a 3-year PhD.

We run regular workshops in FBS for postgraduates and students in FBS on a wide range of topics, from ‘Being effective at a conference’, Knowledge Transfer/Networking, Writing grant applications/, Bioscience Yes, Writing courses, Career workshops etc.  More detail on these workshops is available on the Graduate School website, sent out by e-mail and discussed in our Magazine for postdocs and postgraduates ‘The Researcher’.
