The projects below offer funding (fees and stipend), restricted to UK/EU candidates only.

EPSRC PhD studentship
We are pleased to offer a fully-funded PhD studentship to start in the 2014-15 session (preferably Oct 2014 but later start dates will be considered). The studentship will provide fees and stipend at RCUK level (£13,863 for 2014-15, following years expected to be similar) for 3.5 years. Applications are welcomed from UK and EU candidates, however EU candidates must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years to be eligible for full financial support.
There are three eligible projects:
- Development of a Biofeedback Device to Restore Grasp Function in Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury
Dr Sarah Astill (FBS), Dr Rachel Coats (FBS) and Dr Ray Holt (Faculty of Engineering). Supported by: Mr’s Jamil and Raza; Lead Consultants in Spinal Injuries at the Yorkshire Regional Spinal Injuries Centre and by Dr Clive Glass, Director of the North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre.
- Developing Peptide “Stapling” Methodology for Inhibition of Protein-Protein Interactions involved in Cancer Development and Progression
Dr Thomas Edwards (FBS) and Prof Andrew Wilson (Chemistry)
- Flexibility in Myosin Tails
Prof. Michelle Peckham (FBS), Dr Sarah Harris, Dr Oliver Harlen & Dr Daniel Read (MAPS).
