Biography I trained as a Molecular Microbiologist, gaining my PhD in 2008 from the University of East Anglia. I have extensive experience in recombinant DNA and recombinant protein technologies, including the expression of archaeal, bacterial, mammalian and viral proteins. Biography: I graduated with a BSc and MBiol in Zoology from Leeds in 2015. As facility technician, I liaise with users of the facility to provide assistance and training, and perform appropriate techniques and protocols e.g. SDS-PAGE, western blotting, cloning, cell culture, vector design and protein purification. I assist with the day-to-day running of the facility, maintenance of lab equipment and upkeep of biological stocks. For more information please see my full staff webpage.

Biography: I came to FBS in 2008 as “apprentice” to Dr Peter Roach who ran the fermenter facility. I took over a few years later when Peter left for pastures new. Prior to FBS I worked in the School of Medicine, Academic Unit of Orthopaedic Surgery, for 25 years, based initially in the Clinical Sciences Building at St James’s Hospital and then at the LGI. The Leeds PPF is located on level 9 of the Astbury building (building number 92 on the below map) in lab 9.103, immediately out of the main stairwell. For external users, please report to the main Faculty reception on level 7 of the Miall buidling (building number 93 on the below map) and ask them to contact a member of the PPF and we will come to meet you.
