Professor of Auditory Neuroscience in the Institute of Membrane and Systems Biology. Over the years Deborah has creatively married her love of animal behavior with a passion for making real world applications.

Deborahs career began with an undergraduate degree as a zoologist and she acknowledges many of her projects spring directly from her early days in the lab and the knowledge she absorbed during this time.

Deborahs research has resulted in 3 spin out companies that have made a real impact on society. Over the years Deborah has developed an awareness for identifying the applied nature of research. It is this and the practical knowledge that comes from getting applied research businesses funded & off the ground that Deborah hopes to share with club members.
